The choir singing has been heard in Šentvid pri Stični for 50 years.
During weekend, June 15-16, the mixed choir "Davorin Jenko" from Banja Luka participated, for the 17th year in a row, at the jubilee 50th choir gathering in the small Slovenian town of Šentvid, Ivančna Gorica municipality. This year's golden gathering was held under the motto "To be heard – let’s hear".
Our choir sang three songs "Come Back", "Zottelmarsch" and the Serbian old town song "What My Thoughts Fight". Choirs from Belgrade, Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zrenjanin, Italy, Hungary and, of course, the host country, Slovenia, also took part. "Davorin Jenko" delighted the audience with their performance, and they received special applause for the sympathetic performing the Zottelmarsch. The celebration under the glow of the stars and with fireworks was unforgettable.
On the second day of the "Jubilee 50th Gathering of Slovenian Choirs", held at the Ferdo Vesel School in Šentvid pri Stični, the choir performance was enriched by the performances of the brass band, the mazurit and the visits of the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
