It was the fourth year in a row that the Association of Slovenians Planika from Zrenjanin organised a competition in reciting Slovenian poems.
This year’s competition was held in Zrenjanin from 29 to 31 May 2009. The Association of the Slovenians Triglav was presented by a student of the Supply Teaching Lessons of the Slovenian Language Luka Djevenica who recited his poem “Pomladna pesem” and won the second place. Representatives of the Association of Slovenians from Serbia (Vrsac, Subotica, Ruma, Novi Sad, Nis) took part at the competition. The beauty of the programme was enhanced by a folklore group Predgrad from Predgrad in Slovenia. Their national costumes, dance and music greatly contributed to the event that left no one indifferent. On that occasion we also visited Carska bara and Petrovaradin Fortress.
The first visit to the Association of Slovenians Planika is merely the beginning of a pleasant cooperation with the Slovenian Associations from Serbia.
