Banja Luka, 5 June 2015

The Association of Slovenians “Triglav” has networked with members of the Gorica Literary Club “Govorica” and together with National and University Library organised a literary evening in Banja Luka where authors from Slovenia and two authors from Banja Luka presented their works.

The Gorica Literary Club “Govorica” gathers 36 literary authors, while seven of them came to Banja Luka. Literary evening was moderated by Zdravko Kecman. His words were not mere presentation of Slovenian authors, he also included his knowledge of areas from which authors came, as well as personal memories of his meetings with them. Poems and fragments of prose were read by Boris Jukić, Darko Komac, Darinka Kozinc, Marija Mercina, Rajko Slokar, Olga Kolenc and Milan Petek Levkov. Authors were accompanied by Janka Frančeškin, who played zither (stringed instrument). The sound of that instrument thrilled all the visitors.

Members of the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” are fond of Slovenian and therefore they were interested in listening to all readings. A poet from Banja Luka, Tanja Stupar Trifunović, also read her poetry while, in the end, the moderator Zdravko Kecman also read a fragment from his novel.

The Gorica Literary Club “Govorica” is chaired by Darinka Kozinc. The Club gathers modern artists but it also preserves memory of two important authors from Gorica: Simon Gregorčič and France Bevk. Rajko Slokar read one of Gregorčič’s poems. Given that members of the Association “Triglav” visited the household of Gregorčič two years ago, this was a lovely reminder of the excursion. Darinka Kozinc thanked to the Association and National and University Library for hospitality. A graphic she presented on behalf of the municipality of Nova Gorica, will be an encouragement for new gathering of authors from Gorica and Banja Luka.
