On Friday, 26 June 2015, on the premises of the National Minorities’ Club the book “From Soča to Mura” by Stanko Bensa was presented.

The presentation was attended by a number of visitors, primarily members of the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” that was the organiser of the literary evening, inhabitants of Banja Luka, guests from Prekmurje, Novo mesto and Bled. On behalf of the Association the visitors were welcomed by member of the Association Nataša Kajmaković wishing everyone a pleasant evening. Author Stanko Bensa spoke about the book. Mr. Bensa described the cruel destiny in a chronological manner and based on historical events, which was survived in 1911, during the First World War, Second World War and even later by people of Primorje, Istrians. Suffering they went through ended by their settling in Prekmurje. Violence and partially nationalism ended, whereas fighting for life and desire for new and better living continued.
The book by Mr. Bensa is not merely confession by settlers to Prekmurje, it is the confession of many people who suffered similar destiny due to war events and human cruelty.
History was silent about this. Many of us who attended the presentation of the book and faced historical data considered “sacred” asked themselves: “Is it possible that we were so seduced and blind?“. Today, the truth was revealed and history will no longer be silent.
Following the successful presentation of the book, the remaining part of the evening was dedicated to a pleasant conversation with our guests, members of the Association of Primorci and Istrians in Prekmurje, consul of the Consular Office of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Branko Zupanc, representative of the Emigrant’s Association of Slovenia, Mrs. Vesna Vukšinič Zmajić, friends and members of our association.
