The Association of Slovenians of RS Triglav Banja Luka and its folklore section visited the city of Ljubljana in the period 17-18.12. In 2021 and participated in a folklore workshop to spread the folklore tradition outside Slovenia with the folklore association France Marolt and their instructor, Tomaž Simetinger, PhD.

On December 17, the folklore section consisting of 16 dancers and the choreographer Predrag Savić participated in a workshop on the premises of the France Marolt Association where they had a four-hour folklore rehearsal. They adopted new knowledge, training methods of traditional steps, commented on and improved the choreography performed by the Triglav Association, passed the rehearsal process and reviewed the collection of folk costumes owned by MAROLT.

The Association received the book Dance Heritage between Boč and Pohorje as a gift from the instructor Tomaž, as well as the book Manual for Folklore Performance, where the Association will be able to study and renew traditional steps from all over Slovenia.

We also received 4 CDs as a gift, with recordings of the ways of performing traditional steps from the regions of Gorenjska, Koroška, Dolenjska and Notranjska.

Joint projects have been agreed for next year where instructor Tomaž will set a new choreography for the folklore group, provide musical accompaniment to be recorded in the studio, send samples of costumes according to which the Association should make new ones for their members. He will also invite them to a multi-day folklore workshop in Ljubljana and to attend the traditional annual concert of the folklore association France Marolt.

After the workshop, they all enjoyed a pleasant dinner and a night tour of Ljubljana, which is ready for the Christmas holidays.

The following day, 18 December, members of the Association visited the city in daily conditions where they visited the Old Town, the square, the Roman Wall, the Palace of the Mayor, the Republic Square and walked along the beautiful promenade along the river Ljubljanica.

Upon their return to Banja Luka, the members of the Association also visited Novo Mesto, where they were able to socialize with friends from the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work in Novo Mesto and have lunch.
