On Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Association of Slovenes of the RS "Triglav" Banja Luka, we commemorated the greatest Slovenian poet France Prešeren.

Slovenians celebrate Prešeren's Day, or the Slovenian cultural holiday, on February 8, the day of the poet's death. Pupils of Bršljin Elementary School from Novo Mesto performed the theater play "True Hero".

The event began with the Slovenian anthem, the text of the seventh stanza of Zdravljica, a song by France Prešeren, performed by the Mixed Choir "Davorin Jenko". Marko Budiša, who led the program, thanked the choir of the Association and read interesting facts about the life and work of France Prešeren. This was followed by an address by the vice-president of the Association, Lenka Debeljak Perušić, and all present were greeted by the Slovenian consul of the Embassy of Slovenia in Banja Luka, Boris Jelovšek.

After an interesting performance with a deep message, guests and students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian went to the center of Banja Luka, walked to Kastel and the market, and then visited the Museum of the Republic of Srpska and the Museum of Dolls.

Full of good impressions, after lunch they headed to Slovenia and promised to return to Banja Luka again.
