On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Slovenian youth writer Maša Ogrizek was a guest at the Association of Slovenians Triglav Banja Luka.
The performance of the artist was made possible financially by the Society of Reading Badges of Slovenia and the Association of Slovenians in Banja Luka.
Maša Ogrizek, cultural sociologist and philosopher, has been self-employed in culture since 2008. She first worked as a critic and journalist, but in recent years has become an increasingly established youth writer. She presented her works to students and members of the Association - Koko Dajsa in the city, Luka from the block, The Lady with the Hat, The Lady with the Monster, the fantastic novel Fox Moon... At the beginning of the presentation, the students presented Koko Dajsa with the help of kamishibai.
She presented the role and place of a writer in today's society - what problems writers face, the position of a self-employed person in culture, how her literary works are created, how she chooses characters and creates stories... and the students asked various questions: how does cooperation with illustrators work, where does she get the idea for her works, which topics are closer to her and why. One of her thoughts was that we are stronger together and that an individual must strive to become better. And that good literature for children is one that has multiple levels or the possibility of different interpretations. An honest, interesting and inspiring performance brightened up our Saturday in May.
In a relaxed atmosphere, socializing continued with conversation and snacks.
