As is already established in the annual calendar of events organised by Slovenian associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the beginning of September is reserved for the Gathering of Slovenians in Zenica "Slovenians, let's get to know each other!" , so on September 7, 2024 , this city was a gathering place for Slovenians from BiH and the surrounding area.

The event took place at the Pensioners' Home in the Crkvine neighborhood. The beginning of the Gathering is usually reserved for a cultural event, so this year an exhibition by Novo Mesto graphic artist Janko Orač was opened in the atrium of the Pensioners' Home, where a retrospective of about 30 works by this Slovenian artist was displayed.

In the entertainment part of the program, we had the opportunity to hear a performance by the female choir Slovenčice from Tuzla, watch a performance by dance artist Danijela Hočevar, who performed an oriental dance act, and the audience was entertained by a musical duo: Janez Doltar, guitar and David Kocijan, saxophone.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to BiH, Damijan Sedar, who in his welcoming speech thanked the organisers of the Meeting, the Encijan Association from Zenica and its president Dragan Gačnik, for the organisation and invitation, and recalled his first meeting with representatives of Slovenian associations in BiH, which took place in Zenica.

The organisation of this event was assisted by the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work from Novo Mesto, led by Branka Bukovec, who was also present, and on behalf of the Triglav Association from Banja Luka, Mladen and Oksana Lunić attended the meeting.
