The "Triglav" Association with its active members participated for the second time in the Christmas Cake Festival "Česnica" in Banja Luka
The organizer of the event, which was held on December 13, 2025 at the Museum of the Republika Srpska, is the Office for Cultural Diplomacy of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Dr. Gordana Bekčić. The festival has existed in Serbia for four years, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina the festival is being organized for the second time. The goal of the event is to promote the cultural heritage of numerous communities and cultural values. This year, 22 local associations and national communities participated in Banja Luka, presenting their rich heritage in the field of Christmas and ritual bread.
Our culinary section happily accepted the invitation to participate in this Festival. This year, everything was easier to organize, because more of our culinary section members were involved in the preparations for participation in the Festival. The positive energy and goodwill of the participants made our stand very rich and diverse. Olga's excellent wine attracted a large number of visitors. Our hardworking team was led and organized by Bernarda, and the other members: the two indispensable Olgas, Jasna, Dubravka and Ljiljana prepared Christmas desserts: poprtnik, potica, gingerbread, paws, etc.
I must emphasize and acknowledge the help of the male members of the culinary section: Draško, Ivan and Željo who contributed to the transportation of delicacies, setting up the stand, and especially in wine tasting. The atmosphere was festive, cheerful, we tasted food, drank wine, chatted with other participants. At the end of the event, thank-you notes for participation were distributed as well as appropriate gifts that will come in handy for our culinary workshop.
