On Friday, 16 June, in Banski dvor in Banjaluka our guest was a Slovenian actress, author and professor at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and TV Saša Pavček.
She participated at the presentation of the book V srčnem žepu / U srčanom džepu (In the heart pocket). The bilingual book of her poetry, prose and drama was published by the Association of the Slovenians of the RS Triglav Banjaluka.
Literary evening was facilitated by Ana Marjanović, while participants were author Saša Pavček, translator Željko Perović, proof-reader Nataša Kecman and literary critic Miljko Šindić.
The book contains essays on theatre, love poems and drama Al' en al' dva (Either one or two). Monodrama Al' en al' dva was the central theme of the evening. As an introduction, Saša Pavček played one part, while translator Željko Perović explained his dilemmas in translating it. Proof-reader Nataša Kecman explained several language dilemmas because the drama was written in dialect. Monodrama was played several times in Slovenia and the author expressed her wish to be played in Serbian, too. Interesting interpretation of the text was prepared by Miljko Šindić, PhD. He was attracted by the symbols of blue and red colours, while in the poetry of the author he particularly emphasised love as the core of her creativity. Poetry was read in Slovenian and Serbian.
Audience listened carefully the discussion opening the issues of identity, language and understanding among peoples. Particular impression was left by author’s performance because her voice and mime can fascinate the audience. Saša Pavček thanked to the Association Triglav for issuing her book, while Nataša Kajmaković, vice-president of the Association thanked her on behalf of the Association for a great evening.
